Living Water in a World of Puddles

This morning I shared a message with our Batesville Vineyard family from Jeremiah 2:9-19.  Verse 13 says, "my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me,
the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water."  My challenge to our church family was that often things like money, relationships, success, etc. can all become things we look to for joy rather than God.  I said that religion can easily become a way of using God as a means to attaining that which we really want (money, etc.) which is not God.  Then, I came home and heard a preacher on TV telling people that it is OK to seek wealth as long as we do it God's way.  WHAT?!  Lord, save us from being satisfied with puddles when a fountain of living water is offered.  Amen!
